Draught at Teerenpeli, Turku. Black, tiny fading deeply tanned head. Lots of salty liquorice on the nose, slightly tart, hints of sweet vanilla ice-cream. Flavor is same load of liquorice, little salt, dark molasses, vanilla and coal. Medium bodied, oily and strongly carbonated palate. Sweet, a bit sticky and simple, but enjoyable, that liquorice sticks out nicely.

Draught at Teerenpeli, Lahti. Black colour with a small brown head. Roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and liquorice. The flavour is roasted malt, some chocolate and liquorice, a hint of hops. Burnd aftertaste, medium-bodied. Served way too cold, as always in Teerenpeli. Better than most of the Teerenpeli’s beers.

Draught@SBWF 2009.
Dark brown color, small brown head. Roasted malts, some toasted vegetables in the nose. Sweet, liquerish, roasted and vegetably flavor. Simple strong porter, a bit too sweet for my liking, but above Teerenpeli’s standard line up.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Very dark brown, small beige head. Strong chocolatey nose. Burnt and roasty with asphalt and chocolate. Sweet and full bodied, concentrated and quite powerful. Salty bitter finish. I’m no fan of Teerenpelis session beers, but it seems to suit them well to ramp everything up one notch.
