15th August 2008. Malty start followed by a prominent sour bitterness. Quite a distinct fruit at the end. A bit too harsh.

Cask at The Artillery Arms, Ramsgate: Dark amber coloured bitter. Fruity with caramel and diacetyl. Cloying and not easy to drink. I wasn’t very impressed really, was bored of after about a 3rd of a pint.

Cask at Well House Tavern, Exeter, Devon, 12-11-06. Dark amber coloured beer, very good, fruity robust with a lovely long finish rather liked this.

Bottled. (BB 10/2006). Copper brown color, small off-white head. Interesting (and odd) aroma of metal, yeast, oak and ash. Malty backbone in the medium-strength body, fruity yeastyness and hoppy finish. Some way reminds me about RCH Pitchfork - just not as good as it.

Bottle conditioned. Copper coloured with a slim off-white head. Sweet malt and light hops in the nose. Flavours are similar, with some citrus and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied, light carbonation. A very nice bitter.

Bottle Conditioned aged 5 years. Bronze, red orange body lasting head. This beer had developed into a smooth honeyed beer, rose wine character, sweet malt and delicate bitter notes. Well worth the effort of long storage, it becomes a classical English Bitter. Georgeous.

Sampled cask conditioned. Fruity, sweet flowery aroma. Medium bodied, hint of citrus. Sharp, strong, lingering bitterness.
