SilkTork (3882), Rochester, Kent, England May 1, 2007 500ml bottle from a Torquay supermarket. A clean and juicy unfiltered beer in lovely condition. Pleasant sweetness, edging toward toffee and orange zest with a soft bitterness. Some scratchy carbonation in the swallow. A decent, drinkable ale. Fin (2189), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jan 2, 2007 BCA picked up from the brewery 30-12-06 in a mixed case, and drunk on New Years Eve. Plenty of honey notes come through in this dark copper coloured beer. Very tasty with the malt coming to the fore as the name might have suggested, but also fruity and a slight hint of vanilla detected as well. Lovely beer johndoughty (1632), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Jan 29, 2006 Poured very flat from the bottle.Ruby appearance with some bitterness and a quite pleasant maltiness. An above average ale. JonMoore (1549), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Jan 13, 2006 Bottle conditioned. Clear chestnut colour with a slim creamy off-white head. Malty aroma. Flavours are malty and fruity with a nice long hoppy bitter finish. Medium to full bodied. I’m struggling to describe the complexities of this beer, but it’s very good and I like it. Spiesy (2331), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Dec 10, 2003 Bottled. Big auburn colour with a huge over conditioned fluffy, beige head. Crazy malts and chocolate aroma. Complex and interesting this beer offers quite a challenge. Sharp bitter hop dryness is contrasted by malt complexity. Long bitter finish creates contributes to bumpy but interesting long palate.
