DruncanVeasey (1737), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Sep 8, 2007 Updated: Sep 11, 2007The Smuggler’s Inn, Dawlish. Barman aghast I just wanted a half. Orange amber with white lace. Biscuity smooth malt with an insistent, slightly roasty bitterness to finish. Creamy, uncomplicated, pretty good. fonefan (4884), Ulfborg, Denmark Sep 6, 2007 Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2007, London. Unclear amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted and moderate yeasty, barnyard. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat. harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 18, 2007 Cask gravity at GBBF 2007. Amber, lasting beige head. Caramel aroma, some hedgerow hop fruit. Good condition. Toffee in mouth. Tingly hop on tongue. Pretty good best bitter actually in a more caramelly malty style that I don’t often like. Quack-Duck (1908), Bodensee, Germany Jul 21, 2007 bottle, bought at the brewery. Golden yelow, large head. Hoppy with hints of citrus fruit. Full of flavour. Malty background. Lovelly!
