SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Oct 25, 2008 Growler from the brewery. Dark brown with a lasting froth of tan foam. Funky chocolate and grain aroma. Medium-full body with a nice creamy texture. Chocolate and oat flavor with an acidic tinge . There is some flavor in here that seems a bit out of pace, maybe the house yeast, which doesn’t seem to really jive with the roasted malt flavors. OK, but probably my least favorite Telegraph beer. badlizard (2324), Berkeley, California, USA Sep 30, 2008 ON tap at Linkery. Black with a creamy tan head. Sweet milk chocolate and mild grain aroma and taste. Decent.
