Commercial Description:
This intensely sour "wild ale" recalls the earliest rustic beers crafted centuries ago before brewers had an understanding of controlled fermentation. Brewed with the addition of lemon verbena, as well as lactobacillus and brettanomyces. Telegraph Reserve Wheat is an all-together different beast from modern beer. Not for the faint of heart, this special brew is available in extremely limited quantities.

Bottle thanks to cloudskipper. Pours a pale, almost clear, goldish yellow with super thick white head, lots of lacing, decent head retention. Aroma of wheat, yeast, funk, citrus, coriander, and a bit of tart fruits. Flavor matches well, but the tartness doesn’t perfectly lend to this brew. Either needs to be more sour or less. Light bodied, easy to drink, but is only a few tweaks for being great.

Bottle courtesy of BMan1113VR. Light yellow straw pour. Soured grain notes with vinegar and tough aroma. Smooth taste. Has grainy notes with flavorful hops. Easy drinking. With a strong tart finish.

Bottle shared with Shawn: Golden clean hue with a fizzy head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of lemons, wheat husks, Belgian yeast esters, hint of wood, funk and biscuity pale malts. The taste is twangy and wheaty with a biscuity and earthy component leading to a woody dry finish. The mouth feel is about perfect for the genre, ultra lively and refreshing, really hits the spot. Surprisingly even better than expected, a beer where the whole is more than the parts. Glad to have another bottle to enjoy later, YUMMY!

Bottle at pilsnerpeter’s. Thanks to everybody for their generosity. Very pale yellow with head and lace. Sweet and spicy pineapple aroma. Lemony pixie stix pineapple sweet fruitiness with dry finish. Nice carbo. Refreshing. The first Berliner that I’ve really enjoyed. Excellent.

Pale golden-straw colour. The nose is a litte bit tart. Sort of a kiss of lemon and lemon peel as well. A touch of coriander and a bit of light lactic tartness as well. It has an unusual lemony component that I can’t really put my finger on. A little bit sweet on the palate. It’s not all that sour but it does have a bit of lactic/malic tartness on the back. Meh… it doesn’t really work all that well for me.

25 oz bottle. Pours a clear straw yellow body with a fluffy and frothy bright white head that left lots of lacing. Lightly sour nose with lots of hay and wheat. Some light floral hops and tropical fruits. Fairly crisp and lightly sour flavor with nice hay and light farmhouse character. Some lemon rind and citrus fruit. Not really as puckering as a traditional Berliner Weisse and not really a Sour Ale either. Light bodied and crisp with great lively fizzy carbonation. Really pretty nice, refreshing and crisp with enough tartness to keep it lively and interesting without being overpowering.

Poured a pale golden yellow with a bubbly white average sized head. Aroma of wheat, ripe banana, slight clove, honey and a touch of wet earth. The flavor was rather sour and tart mixed in with banana peels, corriander and wheat.....didn’t really like that weird combo. Thin bodied with bubbly carbonation and a sour finish. Nah this one isn’t for me.
