Dark amber coloured with a fruity aroma. Nutty flavour. Slightly dry malt finish. jfm (1639), Holbæk, Denmark Jan 7, 2006 Chestnut color. Dry sort of malty body with a thin finish and light nutty notes. Mads Langtved (2246), København K, Denmark Nov 11, 2005 Cask conditioned GBBF 2005:
Horrible. Tastes slighty rodden. I could’nt really taste the wheat, and that is maybe a shame.
Nothing for me. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Oct 16, 2005 Cask, GBBF, August 2005 (Day 2). A curious beer. Mid brown colour. Like others, I wouldn’t have guessed this is a wheat beer. But that tends to be the norm for British wheat beers. I think the level of wheat in the grain bill at which British brewers describe their beers as wheat beers is rather low. It has treacle toffee, soft chocolate and licorice notes. Also spicy and herbal nuances. But its also dry and fairly bitter. Unusual but somehow it works.
