jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Dec 31, 2003 Copper coloured body-slightly hazy with a medium-sized dense tan head. Aroma of slight low a.a. hops, caramel and caster sugar flavours with a good malt backbone. Aftertaste clean-nothing going, but a bit of caramel. Overall, a decent beer, definately different for the style, but worth a try! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from the Brickskellar in Washington, D.C. on 26-December-2003. guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Sep 21, 2003 Muddy brown appearance; far from a typical pale ale. Aroma is mostly roasted malt. Taste is also very malty with little noticable hop balance. Bit of a sour aftertaste. This sample was probably past its prime. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA May 14, 2003 Clear auburn with a firm, sticky head. Nose is simply a massive load of caramel and toffee, smells very British ale-ish. Toffee character continues in the flavor, very malty. Hops are more restrained than in most APAs, but not unpleasantly so. Would be a bit better if it was slightly creamier, would really accent the maltiness nicely. Still, quite good. argo0 (6842), Washington DC, USA Feb 4, 2003 Murky copper with medium tan head. Aroma is floral hoppy. Taste is strongly floral/spicy hoppy beer. No real bitterness, and in the end I think the floral flavor comes off too strong. dolemike1 (1116), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2002 Sweet, yet spicy and hoppy , very different as Gusler noted, so different in fact that i could still notice a difference once i had passed that beer limit where almost anything starts to taste alike. Apparently this stuff is very cheap around where i now live so i plan on drinking a lot of it. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 14, 2000 Big malts and hops, a different tasting beer, unique, very malty and a decent hop spicyness that I love so much, a must try if you can find it.
