Coffee, roasted, ryebread, grainy, coffee notes, berries, light hoppy. Boring - thin. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Oct 19, 2008 Draught at the brewpub Black color, brown creamy head. The aroma shows some coffee, cardboard, fish. Good body strength, the mouthfeel is smooth enough, it has a strong roasted malt flavor, luckily with also a small sweetness to make it more drinkable, correct bitterness. The roasted malt leads in the final. Good. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 18, 2008 Draught at GABF 2008.
Black coloured with a medium sized beige head.
Roasted aroma with notes of coffee, hops and berries.
Roasted flavour of coffee with notes of hops and berries.
Roasted and hoppy finish. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Feb 10, 2008 Very dark color. Aroma seemed to have a little coffee almost, but nothing of coffee in the flavor. Strong, but not particularly tasty. Not roasty, just has a bit too much of an alcohol bite. Very little head. Overall, not impressed. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA Jan 4, 2008 2007 PP Strong Ale Fest: Poured black with a tan head. Milk chocolate aroma and flavor. Bitter hop and roasted finish. Some mild fruitiness. Medium body and decent warmth. Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA Jan 1, 2008 Consumed on draft at brewery, 12/30/07. Very dark brown with a thin ring of foam. Oddly, no aroma I could detect. Creamy mouthfeel. Bitter, roasted chocolate and smooth coffee. No alcohol burn or taste. Lightly bitter finish. Not as big as I expected from an imperial stout, but certainly not bad at all.
