Jan 1, 2008 on tap-pours a dissipating off white head and mahogany color. Aroma is mild medium malt-nutty. Taste is medium malt-nutty/chocolate, slightly bitter hops-citrus/earthy. OK carbonation.

Jul 19, 2006 On tap @ Tenaya Creek poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, cocoa and a hint of nuts. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of tootsie roll and toasted malt with a bittersweet finish.

Apr 20, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a mostly clear dark amber-brown color with a thin and creamy off-white head that dissipates quickly. Small strings of lace on the glass. The aroma is nutty and malty with a hint of hops. Medium, smooth body with sweet malt, nut and mild chocolate flavors. Hints of hops show up as well. The finish is sweet with a lingering malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
