Feb 9, 2003 Dark red color with big staying head that gives in an airy aroma. Distinct caramel, smoked wood flavors. Quite good.

Mar 20, 2006 This is really a pretty solid nut brown, probably because it isn’t as nutty as most of them. Also doesn’t get too malty like an amber. Definitely above average for the style.

Oct 23, 2004 Clear light copper body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, nutty, caramel, some chocolate, light herbal. Taste is medium sweet, nutty, chocolate, light caramel. Light-medium body.

Jan 1, 2008 on tap-pours a dissipating off white head and mahogany color. Aroma is mild medium malt-nutty. Taste is medium malt-nutty/chocolate, slightly bitter hops-citrus/earthy. OK carbonation.

Apr 20, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a mostly clear dark amber-brown color with a thin and creamy off-white head that dissipates quickly. Small strings of lace on the glass. The aroma is nutty and malty with a hint of hops. Medium, smooth body with sweet malt, nut and mild chocolate flavors. Hints of hops show up as well. The finish is sweet with a lingering malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
