This beer is a mostly clear dark amber-brown color with a medium thin beige head that diminishes steadily. Spotty lacing. The aroma is mildly malty and spicy. Medium, smooth body with flavors of chocolate malt, spice and touches of sweet fruit. The finish is short and spicy with a light cinnamon and ginger aftertaste. Average overall. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Feb 10, 2008 This had a good spice throughout. Definitely could notice the nutmeg and cinnamon in aroma and flavor. A little odd, yet of the four new beers that I had tonight, this little taster might have been the best per style of any of them. A good spiciness, yet not so much that you couldn’t drink a whole glass. BelgianBeerGal (1275), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jan 21, 2008 Draught into shaker at brewery. Clear dark brown colour with ruby highlights. Very still, little carbonation and a thin white film on top. Aroma starts with dusty, dark chocolate and slight hops; as it warms you get notes of leather and bubble gum(?) The taste is mostly coffee with slight bitterness; you get a little spicey licorice as it warms. The mouthfeel is a little watery and thin. It feels more like a thin stout rather than a true winter ale.
