TimE (1031), Tokyo, Japan Dec 6, 2005 This was the winner for me at Popeye’s Strong Ale Festival. Finally a beer from these guys not infected. I knew it would taste good if they didn’t have an infection.
Beautiful deep abmer color. Creamy, off white head. Fresh cut whole wheat bread mixed with finely chopped fresh hops. Malty start to the mouth, oranges, apples, cinnamon, all spice, apple pie. Very low carbonation and a smooth body. Alcohol is well hidden with a warming finish. Top notch stuff. aceofhearts (1373), San Francisco, California, USA Nov 23, 2005 Tap. Golden-brown, lasting tan head. Very malty and bready, alcohol seems disguised but maybe that’s the 25/28% Eisbocks talking to me. Dry and well-balanced mouthfeel. Liquid freaking bread, no more and no less.
