Commercial Description:
The addition of vanilla beans in the fermentation of our Porter makes this dark but smooth treat much more dynamic in your mouth. We believe that this aromatic vanilla porter will produce a feeling in you that only the juxtaposition of smooth and mild but commanding and flavorful can create. This rope-a-dope style of taste bud jabbing is what defines this tantalizing cool weather cocktail. This beer may make you actually lighter on your feet and proclaim yourself the greatest of all time.

Tap at brewpub. Poured a deep brown with a small tan head. Waitor said the vanilla was "subtle". I really didn’t see anything subtle about the vanilla. Aroma was so vanilla, it was hard to get much else, though there was a little sweet malt and nut is detectable - just enough to remind me I was drinking beer. Taste was also heavy on the vanilla, though the malt backing was really more present than in the nose. Mouth is smooth. Overall, this seems like something a non-beer person would like. That said, it is tastey and by no means offensive.

Dark brown-red, beige creamy head. Big roasty dry aroma, coffee. Taste is big roast again with coffee and a drying astringency, then a lasting sweet vanilla note in the finish.

An almost black pour with tan head and lace. Light vanilla and medium coffee on the nose. Medium coffee, decent finishing malt bitter, with light vanilla finish. As it warms the flavors really come alive. A medium/full bodied beer with good carbonation.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a super deep red with a tight head. The aroma is almost roasty with lots of vanilla, nuts and something musty going on like damp rags in a basement. wow. A sip truly reveals the vanilla. This has straight up cream soda flavor without the excessive sugar. There is plenty of earthy, nutty qualities for balance. Not as much roast is noted on the palate. This is a reasonably drinkable beer but sort of awkward in its delivery.
