Pours a deep dark gold color. Aromas of fruit, malt, a touch of hops, and apple. Flavor big strong malt, hops, and a touch of menthol like quality. Strong malt and hop aftertaste.

On tap at the 2006 Oregon Brewer’s Festival in Portland, OR--Dark clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Nose of bustling hops and rich malts. Bold boozy flavor with a rich hop pininess and malts sweetness. Very warming and well balanced. Yum!

On tap at the Horse Brass Pub. This is a way hopped up malt liqour, very NW style. Very nice malt sweetness up front, not that raunchy malts that the macros use, but nice light caramel flavors, followed by a big citrusy hop finish. My only complaint was that there was a lot of alcohol showing, but oh wait, its ten percent, i won’t complain.

(Draft: 2005 Oregon Brewers Festival in Portland, OR) Lightly caramely, moderately malty, lightly sweet and fruity with some alcohol as well. There is also a pleasant, moderately bitter hoppiness, enough for excellent balance. The nose is lightly malty. Medium "plus" body, long-lasting presence on the palate. Hazy, light amber color with an off-white head. One of the very few beers at this festival where I went back for seconds!

On tap at the Rose and Raindrop. Can there be such a thing as an India Pale Malt Liquor? Well, this is it! Pours a dark clear amber with a thick, off-white head. Aroma of grain and citrusy piney hops! Pleasantly sweet with notes of grain, corn, caramel, a touch of dark fruit and then an explosion of piney grapefruity Pacific NW hops! Bitter hop finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Lacing hangs on the glass in sheets, great head retention. Loved it!

Tasted on Tap at 2005 OBF. Orange gold color. Large to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of that corn sweetness. A medium to full bodied Malt Liquor. Malts are fruity, orange and orange peel. Hops are citrus and earthy. Very smooth. A malty, very sweet beer. Are you sure it’s a Malt Liquor? No harsh corn flavors, or any of the other flavors that one associates with the style. Damn decent. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.
