Earthy and spicy with some sugar. One of the smoothest beers I’ve ever had. Citrus and grass in the taste and the bitter finish lingers. Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 15, 2009 Tap at Horse Brass. Poured a dark reddish brown with a thick tan topper. Aroma of plums and other dark fruit, a bit of a port smell and some nutmeg. Flavor was dark fruit, caramel, brown sugar and a little beat of yeast. Very flavorful and tasty, I wish TG would bottle more of their beers. carruthm (1185), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 29, 2009 On tap at Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, OR. Colour... dark amber with a thick head. Nose... sweetly malty, some mash character and booze as well. Palate... good CO2 punch to start, lots o’ hops up front, malty, biscuity, and plenty of toffee on the back palate. Doesn’t seem like 9% ABV. This could really sneak up on a person! stchloe (491), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 25, 2009 It’s muky but also appealing, like a bran muffin or plum pudding, but cold, a little body chewiness, thats okay, maybe oatmeal. the aroma is solidly blaanced tween malt and hops, so at moments i dont smell either. dome spice, maybe cardamon. similar spice in the flavor, the fruit flavor not quite peach or plum, reined in by hte hops, towards the piney, but balanced by the fruit.
