Commercial Description:
Help us celebrate American Independence and American Beer Month in July with the release of the Terrapin All-American Imperial Pilsner. This beer was brewed using only American malts, American hops, and American yeast. Who says you have to import ingredients from Germany to make a true Pilsner? Of course, this Pilsner is made "Terrapin Style". Hence the 75 B.U.’s, the 8% alcohol and the term "IMPERIAL Pilsner". Malt: 2-Row Pale Malt, Carapils Malt. Hops: Warrior, Mt. Hood, Santiam, Liberty, American Saaz (Dry Hop). O.G. 18.5 F.G. 4.5 B.U.’S 75 A.B.V. 8%

Pours with an orange-gold body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a note of spice and butterscotch as well as a slight bitter grassiness. The aroma is lacking. Medium bodied, smooth yet warming.

Dark golden color with a light lacy tan head. Hay and grass in the nose and some light caramel. A little thick and sweet. The hops are evident and flavorful, but a little over the top. The alcohol is present and in your face. Not great, but not bad either.

Picked up at Blackwater Brews in SC... Appears a transparent, dark gold with a silky white head that slowly fades out into a mild cap. Plenty of streaky lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of malt, corn, wet hay, cornbread, brown sugar, yeasty dough, and citrus. Flavors are that of the aromas with some brown sugar, and caramel making there presence known but still being buried by the wet hay, and cornbread. Mouthfeel is yeasty, medium bodied, dry with a somewhat hot finish of booze.

Bottle thanks to ibrew2or3!!! Poured a darker shade of gold with a little cloudiness, nice white head that had some staying power. Aroma of grapefruit with some yeasty undertones along with fresh cut grass. Taste fo thick malt and moderately hoppy. Aftertaste was very clean and slightly sweet. A very good effort on this complex beer.

12oz bottle (2007) golden yellow pour -- little darker than a normal pilsner. Good sized white head. Hoppy, pleasant aroma. spicy, earthy, a touch of citrus-- with light sweet grain notes. Full bodied and really smooth. Great texture. Like this one.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Mcbackus. Pours a golden hue with a dash of red. Small white head with a small white lace. Nose was of breadlike grains. Taste was initialy grainy and breadlike with some hoppy presence. Later into the brew there was some sweetness I could not put my finger on. Finish was typical hoppy bitterness, with the undercurrent of this sweetness. This was a good brew.

From bottle : Pours a slightly hazy amber orange color with a quick forming froathy white head that dies pretty quick and some spotty lacing. Nutty caramel and toffee. Flavor is nutty with sweetness. Medium and thick in spots palate, little alcohol on the end. Not to bad.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Medium orange pour, soft, somewhat quickly fading white head - leaves sticky lacing. Syrupy, nutty aroma with some baked bread accents and a hint of wort. Nutty flavor with some sweet hints of caramel and toffee and pick up an odd flavor not too different from Terayaki sauce. Some roasted notes as well. Thickish, sticky mouthfeel. Alcohol burn is warming and nice.
