Nice malt, hop, alcohol aroma. Strong kicked up pils taste - more malt, more pils like hops, and more alcohol! Wow, I really enjoyed this, exactly as advertised. Thanks to whoever brought this to the White Elephant exchange at the Chicago Area gathering at Flossmoor station. Hazy orange yellow, nose thin malty with soe sour hops yet sweet and crisp. Good alcohol presence. Good. beachbum25 (797), Powellville, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 12, 2007 12 oz bottle-from Secret Santa Pours a cloudy golden color w/almost no head, did have some decent lacing. Full, rich, deep, floral hop aroma. Sweet, hopped flavor up front, but not overly strong or out of balance. Has some good malt bitterness to finish it out. This one was a little more hoppy than I usually like them, but I enjoyed it. Had a better balance than on overly hopped IPA. Long finish Ughsmash (4044), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2007 2006 bottle thanks to ambergirl. Poured a hazy medium golden with a short cap of white head. Nose picked up an array of lighter fruits upfront... sweetness laced with alcohol... some herbs and maybe a hint of candy beneath. Flavor focused on pale and fruity malts with moderate herbal bitterness and some caramel.. alcohol was present but never got in the way. Quite smooth on the palate with sticky sweetness lingering along with citrus and herb bitterness. Good brew. marksahara (79), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2007 12 oz. bottle and on draught at Taco Mac - Lindbergh City Cen. Pours an ever-so-slightly hazy golden orange with a medium amount of whitish crown. Decent retention and decent lacing. Aroma is pretty hoppy compared to a normal Pils, with good herbal, citrus, and floral tones. Also a good amount of sweet malt and some yeast detected. Flavour is very malty but balanced with an assertive helping of hop bitterness. Mid-way through the tasting, caramel sweetness comes and goes, but the finish is more acerbic and bitter than smooth. A decent hoppy aftertaste is left in the mouth, but it is more grassy than floral or citrus. Even though it’s 8% ABV, you can’t really detect much of an EtOH burn at the back of your throat - it’s really sneaky. This is overall a nice beer, the first Imperial Pilsner I’ve ever had, so I definitely need to try others to get a better feeling about the entire category, as a whole. I’m glad I have easy access to it, but to be honest, I wouldn’t miss it. Highly recommended for at least one try, though. adrian910ss (1425), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma has slightly floral hops to it with hints of malt, barley and yeast. Taste is bready and malty with hints of floral and barley undertones. Not bad and the alcohol is hidden well. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2006 Bottles shared with a bunch of folks at DougShoemaker’s Decemberfest 2006 - courtesy of IPFreely. Nice bright golden-orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite sweet, lots of caramel, with some grassy hops. Flavour follows the aroma, with some more prominent warm hop notes to finish. Body is slightly sticky. It’s a nice beer, but it just doesn’t seem big enough to be called "Imperial" to me, even despite the 8% abv. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Bottle. Slightly foggy orange body with a bubbly white head. The aroma is dark and caramelly, cookies, and dust. Oily hop flavour, some bread, caramel, and warming alcohol. Not too bad.
