| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours an amber-brown, small beige head that disapates to a very fine gathering around the edges. Aroma is right away sweet and malty, hops are there, but not overpowering. Flavor is immediately very barleywine like, sweet malt, caramel, hops in the background. Not very bitter, sweetness starts to get on my nerves right before I finished the glass, not sure I could drink more than one at a sitting. machfive55 (234), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Poured amber with a two-fingered head, aroma was a rich citrus with piney notes. Flavor was malty, chocolatey, hoppy, very big with lots of complexity. Hops are upfront as is the alcohol but the hops mellow as the beer warms bring out a rich caramelly, chocolatey maltiness. Aroma: Nice citrusy and spicy hops. Appearance was a dark red, that let light through. Flavors of spicy citrusy hops, brown sugar, a little bit of pine. Not too thick not too thin. A really kick ass beer. This beer came together for me.
The appearance is a medium brown color, reminded me of Medium Amber Grade A Vermont Maple Syrup. The aroma was surprisingly mild and sweet. The flavor of hops was knock you off your bar stole in the first few sips, once your tongue is numb other flavors begin to peak through such as a nutty flavor. The palate of this beer was very smooth. I would definitely have more than one.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Floral hop nose with caramel and some dark fruit notes. Clear dark copper/amber with small off-white head. Nice balance of floral hop flavor and malty sweetness with a little bit of fruitiness. Bitterness is hefty but balanced. Medium body and mouthfeel. Finish is sweet but dries quickly with bitterness. daknole (3002), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2009 Bottle, from total wine. Pours an amber color. Aroma hits with caramel malt and some serious hop notes flood the nose. Flavor has some resin, citrus and floral hops while a big malt backbone keep this one from being a big hop bomb. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Thanks to alexsdad06 for this extra! Pours a murky amber-brown color with a medium off-white head that fades quickly. Aroma is caramel malt, sugar sweetness, and a mix of floral and citrus hops that almost form a perfume-like aroma. Taste is heavily malt driven, candied sugar, and some resinous hops. This seems more like an ASA or something.
