Commercial Description:
This mammoth imperial red ale leads with a tantalizing hop aroma that is quickly complemented by an enormous malt backbone. Finishing with a multitude of hoppy goodness, this “Monster Beer” is truly not for the faint at heart.

12oz bottle courtesy of brentfeesh. Aroma of sweet malts lites up the nose on pour. Also some caramel present in aroma. Murky dark red amber body with beige head and some sticky lace left on glass. Flavor has a sticky sugary sweet malt for the most part. Bittering spice at times also and some caramel malt flavor. Odd brew, thanks Brent.

12 oz bottle from artusory, thanks Ryan. Pours a deep dark ruby red so dark it’s almost burgundy, with a small quickly disappearing creamy beige head. Aroma of pineapple, alcohol and some malt undertones. Medium bodied with average to strong carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. Flavor is very similar to the aroma and solid but nothing that will knock your socks off. I gotta say I love the Terrapin bottles, so much so I think I’m gona go get a pet turtle and name him Fred.

07: 12 oz bottle from beerlando: Aroma is sweet hops that can be smelled a couple feet away! Nice dark red/brown color, small head. Taste is intially malt, followed by a sweet after taste of hops. Medium texture and over all pretty smooth. Different but I like it. Good beer! Thanks Bryan!

Bottle from ucusty. Pours a dark red with a off white head. Smells like a malty beer with some hop presence. Has a good red ale malt taste with some hop to it. Decent beer.

Bottle from unclemattie via trade. Thanks! The pour was an attractive clear magogany color with a decent off-white head. Spots of lacing. The aroma was herbal, pine hops and some light roasted malt and a tiny bit of caramel sweetness. The flavor is mostly light pine hops with malt and herbs. Didn’t find much citrusy hops. The mouthfeel was fine and the alcohol wasn’t really noticed. Didn’t blow my doors off.

Bottle (2007). Caramel, grass, and little alcohol on the nose. More malt than hops on the nose as well. Amber and orange in color with tan head. Overall I liked it, but should be called big malty monster!

Bottle. 2007. Rich toffee colored beer with a light tan head. Caramel, dark fruit, and citrus aroma. Citrus, pine flavor with lots of caramel. Not very IIPA like - the impreial red is more like it. Medium bodied. Lingering caramel, grapefruit/lemon, and some summer fruit.

12 oz bottle thanks to unclmattie. Dark brown with a small tan head. Nose of malts, chocolate, alcohol with a mild hop nose. Taste is viscous and very malty and chocolately. Chunky mouth and the alcohol is very well hidden. This cannot be 8.3% can it? Nice beer
