Nov 26, 2006 2006 12 oz bottle courtesy of Matt. Pours a sandy brown ruby red color with a white lacing for a head. Aroma is of sweet floral hops with hints of pineapple. Flavor is floral with hints of pineapple,malty hops,caramel and even pine. Very good double IPA, but it lacks that punch that would make it an excellent one.

Nov 23, 2006 Bottled, thanks Immy! Clear dark amber, rich dense head. Hoppy estery pineapple and grapefruit aroma. Sweet and caramelly with near full body. The hops hide in a sea of spun sugar and caramel. More hop aroma than bitterness in the finish.

Nov 19, 2006 Bottle. Poured a dark amber (almost brown) color with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates to nothing. The aroma was of sweat malts. The flavor found dark fruits, caramel, and a light roast background. Light, comfortable bitterness throughout. Medium to full body that is very smooth. Outstanding flavor and palate! My favorite Terrapin yet!

Nov 18, 2006 Whoa! 12oz bottle. Pours a dark, reddish color with a big fluffy head. The aroma is flowery and hoppy but it didn’t really give me a good idea of the punch this packs. This is a well balanced but very dry, bitter brew. Very well done! I wish I could get this regularly.

Nov 16, 2006 This one has quite a following here in Atlanta. Upon receiving our 1st keg I had high expectations. Pours a nice dark amber color with a slight head that holds to the glass nicely. Nice hoppy bitterness with some slightly sweet apricot flavor. Nice smooth finish with a pleasant aftertaste. This is a fine beer and now my second favorite in the Terrapin Monster Beer Line-up - #1 - Wake-n-Bake, #2 - Big Hoppy Monster, #3 - Rye 2, #4 - All American Imperial. Pilsner, #4

Nov 15, 2006 On tap @ the "Brick Store Pub." Pours a dark ruby color with a light tan head leaving excellent lacing. Aroma is very hoppy and the flavor has hints of citrus and caramel with a creamy texture and bitter hop finish. Excellent Brew for hop lovers!

Nov 13, 2006 Bottle (2005). Red-brown colour. Aroma is hoppy, very hoppy. It also has notes of sweet caramel. caramel sweetness comes through in the flavour. I also get an oily hop flavour. And get citric/grapefruit, lychee and pine form the huge amount of hop character it has. It ended up being a little too cloying and a bit over the top. But theres some good flavour in here.

Nov 12, 2006 Definitely big and hoppy. Pours a nice hazy reddish amber with a thin, beige head. Nice floral hop aroma, very strong. Hops up front in the taste with a well-developed malty undercurrent. Ends with a pleasantly bitter hop finish. Very nice.
