Commercial Description:
“With its golden hue and gentle complexity, the Terrapin Golden Ale brings refreshing to a whole new level. Its combination of flavor, smoothness and drinkability is difficult to find in most craft beers. Sometimes even hopheads like us want nothing more than to enjoy a beer that is crisp, smooth and refreshing. That is why we created the perfect session beer - the Terrapin Golden Ale.”

Draught at Tir na Nog in downtown Raleigh, NC. Pours orange/straw, very clear, with a small white head. Aroma is faint malt and some floral hops. Flavor is similar, earthy, some apple, with a crisp grassy finish. Very light beer, not that impressive, but not that bad either.

12oz bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Rated on 3/17/08. Pours a clear, orange-yellow color with thin white head. Aroma is faint apricot, hints of cider, wheat, bread. Flavor is complex cheese, hops, bread, slight floral notes. Light, watery mouthfeel with slightly bitter finish.

Picked up a 10 oz bottle in a mix pack, has a small white foamy head to it. the body is clear and golden. They body is moderate and hoppy, not overpowering but hints of fruit in it, creamy with no lingering aftertaste. Hops are mixed with malts

Bottle thanks to dchmela. Pours a cloudy yellow to straw color with a thin white head. Smell is a little bit of caramel malt sort of flavors and a bit of faint hops, mostly, sort of grassy. Flavour is fairly sweet and reasonably plain. A little bit of bitterness in the finish, which doesn’t last very long. Mouthfeel is a bit watery and carbonation is perhaps a little low for the style? On the whole, not much to sit down and enjoy, but for what it claims to be - a session beer - I would imagine it wouldn’t be too bad.

Pale gold appearance with a small white head and scant lacing. Grassy, slightly vegetal aroma. Grainy, temperately hopped, moderately sweet malt taste. Smooth, light bodied mouthfeel with good carbonation. Finish is short lived.

Not impressed with this at all. Description says it is gently complex, well I disagree. There is nothing complex about this at all. Tastes worse then a Bud. Never buy this again.

Bottle, Utobeer, Borough Market. What a huge disappointment. Looked inviting enough in the glass. Golden with a white head. Downhill all the way after that. No real aroma. Watery, lacking in flavour. Shurely a lager ? Didn’t finish. Turtle pish.

Poured a nice golden color. the fluffy head soon dissipated. there was a nice mouthfeel. But otherwise was an ordinary beer.
