Commercial Description:
“With its golden hue and gentle complexity, the Terrapin Golden Ale brings refreshing to a whole new level. Its combination of flavor, smoothness and drinkability is difficult to find in most craft beers. Sometimes even hopheads like us want nothing more than to enjoy a beer that is crisp, smooth and refreshing. That is why we created the perfect session beer - the Terrapin Golden Ale.”

(Bottle) Pours golden orange. Light spicy and herbal aroma with grain, malt and grass. A bit buttery, almost toffee like and light fruity with hints of some oranges and maybe a touch of apricot. Malty, grainy and light fruity flavour with hints of some grass and herbs. Some buttery notes in the flavour as well. Smooth mouthfeel. Light to medium body.

This is the first beer I have tasted via a trade. Bottle sent by jimbowood. Thanks Jimbo! Pours clear pale yellow color with essentially no head. Light to moderate carbonation. Aroma has a sweetness that seems to arise from a combination of various fruits, but not strong enough to identify the types of fruits. The flavor includes lemon, sweet malt, and a touch of hop bitterness. Light and refreshing. I could certainly drink more of this as the days grow warmer.

Clear yellow, with a fizzy white head. Tangy, somewhat bitter nose, with some vegetable undertones. Unpleasant flavor--kind of like squash, with aluminum.

Pours yellow with no head. A kind of stately macro golden, but really no better than that. The nose is slightly better. Light, but relatively round malt. A little bit of strawberry, not much in the way of bitterness, though some slightly floral elements. Nothing unpleasant, but nothing too interesting. Mouthfeel is the strong suit. Big full and creamys with better viscosity than I’d guess a priori. The flavors are simple and make this easy to drink, but hard to think about. Slightly creamy, but mostly lightly toasty malt with a hint of diacetyl. Toasty aftertaste, caramel malt and slightly fruity finish. A step up from a pale lager, but not by much. I could drink a lot of this while playing some ultimate though.

Pours pale golden in color with little/no foam. Aroma of malts of hops, nothing in particular sticking out as far as the smell. Flavor is creamy (of course) malts with a tiny hint of hops. Not much character, can see this as a sessionable beer on a hot summer day while doing the lawn.

Thanks to decaturstevo for this bottle. Pour was yellow with white head that lasted only a few seconds. Nose of sweet malt with not much else. Flavor was the same with a little hint of hops. Finish was kind of chalky.

A deep golden pour with a hint of read. Very light white head. An aroma of light malt and a slight wet paper aroma that reminds me of a lager. A flavor that though not bad is rather bland. Like a turkey sandwich with no mayo. The bitter is decent and a bit of a surprise. A beer I could drink often.
