“With its golden hue and gentle complexity, the Terrapin Golden Ale brings refreshing to a whole new level. Its combination of flavor, smoothness and drinkability is difficult to find in most craft beers. Sometimes even hopheads like us want nothing more than to enjoy a beer that is crisp, smooth and refreshing. That is why we created the perfect session beer - the Terrapin Golden Ale.”

Was looking forward to this beer from local brewer Terrapin, but sadly disappointed. Their other beers are fairly good, but this has to be the worst of the lot. The odor is quite skunky. It’s just genuinely off-putting. Hard to describe, but genuinely unappetizing. The appearance is probably the best thing abuot this beer--it’s a nice, clear gold, with a quickly dissipating head. Taste-wise, it’s not all that bad, but very weak and watered-down. Seems to taste okay, but you really have to search to find anything. Almost no flavor when it hits your tongue, but a slight aftertaste if you look for it. Very thin mouthfeel, with a very slight hint of carbonation. Very, very disappointing. I can only imagine myself purchasing this beer again if I have friends coming over who like drinking crappy American swill, and I want something that they won’t complain about but I can swallow. If you don’t breathe while taking a sip it’s not half bad, just extremely weak.

Bottle: Clear gold with a small white fizzy head. Corny, light skunk aromas - a little off-putting like most beers of this ilk. Taste isn’t really that big of a deal. A slight wheat aftertaste. The feel is thin, but not quite watery. If I was in Athens, GA on a hot July day, I would probably have another one of these. But that probably isn’t too likely and I’m ok with that. Overall, good light summer beer. Thanks Indiana_Red for the share factor!

Bottle Pours a clear very light yellow with a quick fizzy white head. Spotty sheets of lacing. Papery honey pale malt aroma. Very plain and almost watery flavor. Not unpleasant but vey faint soft flavors. Thirst quenching I suppose and this one should have been a bit colder. Not bad, just not very exciting. Soft carbonation and a quickly dissipating trailer. Thanks to Captain Cougar for this one.

Bright yellow pour. Sweet slightly hoppy smell and flavor. Pretty refreshing, interesting to drink. I was preparing myself for something alot sweeter, but ended up with a beer that seems pretty fit for summer. A nice one actually. Seems like this would be a good outdoor beer.

On tap at Mellow Mushroom in Brookhaven, GA. Pours a very clear and light gold color with a decent white head, which fades. Aroma is sweet with light pils malt, some corn, light herbal hops, and DMS. Somewhat sweet flavror with some gritty corn grain texture and flavor and a light hoppy crisp finish. Actually this was pretty good for a cream ale, not like I have had many, but it was decent and easy drinking.

Bottle (12oz). Via trade with Pailhead. Pale clear flat gold with an average bright white head. Smells of corn - like fresh corn on the cob - sort of pleaant, but not beer-like - maybe some stale hops, pretty sweet and grainy. Taste is a little sugary, light grain, stale perfumy hops - not great, at least no chemical character, but the aftertaste is harsh. Mouthfeel is slick, slightly watery, flat - hey, what do you expect from a cream ale? At least the aftertaste seems a little hoppy (hop extract?)

Bottle from BeerCellar2, thanks. Looks macro yellow, pours with almost no head. Can see through the beer. Some faint smell of vanilla, barely noticeable. Very tasteless, but not off putting. While there is nothing off putting about this beer there is also nothing whatsoever about this beer.
