Bottle. slightly hazed dark brown pour. Spotty tan foam head. Aroma is strong hops, light caramel, chocolate covered nuts and citrus notes. Taste is strong hops, toffee, spicy notes, light chocolate, citrus, and nuts. Body is medium with a soft carbonation and a slick feel. Ends with more chocolate covered nuts, citrus notes, spicy hops, caramel, and sweet malt notes.

(Rating #2378)

Transparent mahogany, thin white head. Nose is mainly roasted malt, some minor hop citrus and grass. The IPA notes are stronger in the flavor, but the combo is an odd one, the roast and grapefruit bitterness giving the beer an old , somewhat dank flavor. Fizzy body, decent finish mainly of malt. Not very interesting, and the blend is rather harsh.

Sampled at World Beer Festival in Raleigh NC - this beer was a pleasant surprise. Poured a dark brown with tan head - aroma of hops, nuts, caramel and pine. Taste of hops, chocolate and malts. Different combination but it was a nice deviation from the ordinary after a day of tasting lots of the same stuff all day. Good job on this one.

A good combination of the characteristics of each style. The aroma is not strong but there are aromas of nutty, caramel, pine hops, and a slight nose of medium coffee. A good overall beer

Location: Picked up at 6 pack at a gas station in Atlanta, 4/16/09

Aroma: Nuts, caramel, coco, coffee, pine hops
Appearance: Dark brown, thin tan head
Flavor: Hops, malts mixed and balanced, but still capturing the flavors of both the mixed styles
Palate: Kind of thin, but good, a little sticky
Overall Impression: I liked this one. I would describe it this way:
They did a really nice job of mixing two distinctly unique style together, while not losing the unique characteristics that makes each great.
In fact, I gave the Overall Impression an Extra Point just because of the creativity. As a Bonus: This was my first Terrapin Beer, which, as a University of Maryland Alum, is a brewery I have been wanting to try for a while.

I generally prefer malt bombs to hop bombs, but this beer from Terrapin pleases both palates. Pours a slightly translucent reddish brown with a thick frothy head that slowly subsides to pleasant lacing. Smell is slightly citrussy with some subtle hints of pine? Flavour is slightly dominated by the hops with a nice malty backbone fading to a subtle coffee aftertaste. Eminently sessionable!
