Aroma: Nuts, caramel, coco, coffee, pine hops
Appearance: Dark brown, thin tan head
Flavor: Hops, malts mixed and balanced, but still capturing the flavors of both the mixed styles
Palate: Kind of thin, but good, a little sticky
Overall Impression:
I liked this one. I would describe it this way:
They did a really nice job of mixing two distinctly unique style together, while not losing the unique characteristics that makes each great.
In fact, I gave the Overall Impression an Extra Point just because of the creativity. As a Bonus: This was my first Terrapin Beer, which, as a University of Maryland Alum, is a brewery I have been wanting to try for a while. StuartCarter (11), Alabama, USA

Pours a slightly translucent reddish brown with a thick frothy head that slowly subsides to pleasant lacing. Smell is slightly citrussy with some subtle hints of pine? Flavour is slightly dominated by the hops with a nice malty backbone fading to a subtle coffee aftertaste. Eminently sessionable! maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Sweet caramel and molassas aroma with some raisin notes and a floral hop background. Sweet nutty and caramel flavor, some slight raisin hints on a floral and citrus hop background. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2009 Fantastic brew that tastes like an ipa and a porter mixed. Which is kinda like a brown ale. A fair amount of roasted character, more than the average brown ale. Almost caramely, but the hops truly stand out at the end, cutting through that sweetness. A unique beer with quite a bit of character.
And the turtle playing the sitar certainly helps as well. BeerGestapo (740), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Brewed in the USA..... Pours a reddish brown color with a small but foamy white head. Aroma is very hoppy with citrus, pine needles and malts. The taste is pleasant, roasted malts with some caramel, nuts and pine. The mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side, yet very drinkable. The finsih to this brown ale has a slight bitterness to it but not overbearing. Palidor19 (1785), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 15, 2009 this beer taste of pure hops in the straight form. the malts are every mild in comparison.
it brings together to separate style yet each one is not substantial. still its decent. nick76 (2676), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 15, 2009 The aroma is fantastic with marijuana, pine, citrus, chocolate, caramel, nuts, and yeast. The appearance is red brown with a foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma but not quite as good because of a astringent flavor. The palate is thin. Overall an interesting but not great combination of styles. thejon375 (392), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a brown color with tan head. Aromas of roasted hops and sweet malt. Very good roasted malt flavor with a slightly hoppy finish.
