Commercial Description:
"India Style Brown Ale - 6% ABV. A head on collision of a hoppy, west coast IPA and a complex, malty brown ale...basically an IPA with a roasty backbone.”

Bonus bottle from emacgee. Pours a murky shade of brown with a tint of amber and a trim beige head. Smells and tastes of molasses, burnt caramel, malt, and faint bakers cocoa. The roast seems way overdone.

Brownish color with a mild hoppy and malty aroma. Sweet, grainy flavor with floral and citrus hops being very present. Good for a brown, mediocre for an IPA.

A solid IPA in every regard, more my bias toward double IPAs that the flavor here comes off a bit watery. Very tasty no less.

12oz bottle. Pours a completely hazy dark brown with a 1 finger beige head. Nice nose of herbal hops and toasted malts. Nice roasty flavor with a light hop bite. It seems kind of unfair that this brew is in the IPA category, if it was with the rest of the browns I think it would be in the top 10%.

Trade extra from emacgee. Rating this one from memory. Copper in color with some amber highlights and a medium off white head. Aroma of some toasted malts/caramel, some roast, and some citrus/floral hops. Taste: Slightly roasty, with some molasses, toasted malts, and a moderate citrus hop presence. I thought the malts just got a touch astringent which could be a bit of age. Overall decent.

Taste 2/9 Bottle. Looks: Deep brown bottom with a thick tan foam. Aroma: Citrus and chocolate roast. Taste: Quite strange. Chocolate roast and depth from the roasted/toasted malts, then a strong hop bite. Interesting, once.

12 oz bottle - Poured hazy brownish red with medium head. Aroma - Roasted nuts, caramel malt and subtle resin hops. Flavor - I really enjoyed that graham cracker taste mixed with roasted chocolate covered nuts and perfectly balanced hops. Palate - Creamy mouthfeel with alot of carbonation. Finish is bitter and has a little hop bite that I did not care for. Overall - A damn fine beer. 2nd brew from Terrapin and enjoyed the single bottle I had.

pours a deep opaque brown with subtle ruby hues and a creamy light tan head and very nice retention and lacing. complex aroma with nutty chocolate notes followed by subtle citrus from the west coast hops. flavor is much of the same with nutty roasty chocolate up front and a crisp hoppiness with light citrus to balance it out. finish is interesting...hoppy and a bit dry but still some lingering chocolate.
