Jan 7, 2009 12 oz bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. Reddish brown color. Honey, lemon, black currant, petrol and bread in the aroma. In the flavor the focus in on lemony, petroly and grapefruity hops with hint of toasted malt and chocolate in the background. Soft and drinkable. Good hop aroma and flavor but I’m longing for more that toasty-chocolatey maltiness.

Jan 5, 2009 Bottle. Scarlet in the glass, boasting an enduring mocha froth. The nose combines toasty nutty malt with juicy citric American hops and possibly softly spicy noble hops. Beginning with the roasty-caramelly kiss of a masterful brown ale, the flavor immediately transitions to the heady earthy-spiciness of German origin hops. Finishes with a flash of citric fruity tartness, then "green" and "sharp" hop flavor. Creamy, silken mouthfeel... smooth, lingering espresso aftertaste. Outstanding in all respects and overblown in none. I could gladly enjoy this treat every day.

Jan 4, 2009 Pours brown color with light tan head. Pine hoppy aroma. Sweet toasted malt flavor with a moderately bitter hop finish. Medium body with average carbonation. This one really surprised me. I liked it alot.

Jan 2, 2009 Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours almost coffee brown with thin tan head. The aroma is interesting with full earthiness, hints of dark roasted malts and some muted pine. The taste is full on earthiness mixed with some pine hop bitterness and roasted malts to malt nuttiness. Full flavor, love me some more.

Jan 1, 2009 On tap at the Beer Sellar in Nashville. Poured a dark brown color with a one finger brown head. Aroma of nuts and piney hops, with a bit of spice. Flavor is malty with a citrus finish. Medium/full bodied with mild carbonation and a dry mouthfeel.

Dec 30, 2008 12oz bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours a dark reddish brown mahogany color with a one finger tan head that settles slowly and provides some lacing on the glass. Aroma is hoppy and malty with notes of nuts, spice, and some hints of grapefruit and other ripe citrus. Flavor is very hoppy with significant grapefruit and citrus notes along with some hints of malt, caramel and spice. Generally light to medium body with a bitter hoppy finish.

Dec 30, 2008 Bottle from Knightly Spirits. Pours a deep red-brown with one finger of off-white head. Aroma is very hoppy with aroma of slight pine and lots of citrus. Flavor is malty with a citrus hop wallop that finishes with lingering bitterness. Nice malt presence and lots of hops to this one.

Dec 29, 2008 12oz bottle-pours an off white head that laces and mahogany color. Aroma is light citrus-grapefruit. Taste is medium malt-brown sugar/dusty, roasty, light citrus-grapefruit. Nice, dry, even though it has a watery mouth feel.
