Smells of hoppy, roasted quality. Its appearance is good, though I wonder how much cheaper the beer could be if they did not spend so much money on such an elaborate, colourful label. I mean, it is cute and all, but still - the price could be a bit lower. I could deal with that. The product description is pretty accurate on this one. It is complex, malty, but with hops too - and oddity of a mix, but one that works. I am glad to be drinking this one, though I probably will not get it again. The ABV is a good 6 percent, too - the highest you can legally get here in Alabama.

12 oz. single bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville, FL. This is new to Jacksonville, so I am interested to see how it turns out. Pours a nice brown color with a dark tan head. Aroma is a bit hoppy, touch of nutty. Taste is roasted, a touch of hops and a nut finish. Impressive.

Thours poured a light brown color with an off white head. Aroma was hop dominated, not much roastiness in there. Flavor was also very hoppy, not much like a brown ale at all despite the label, not a bad beer thoguh overall.

OK, bought this thinking it was a brown ale. Then a closer look at the label says India style, and you know what that means. It smells like a hopped up IPA even tho it is a dark brown beer in the glass. Nifty aroma of pine or floral hops. Alarming to the lager lover. Taste is like any other IPA with some earthy flavors mixed in perhaps. Chewing on green grapefruit rind flavors and worse. Did somebody leave soap in my glass? On tap at Terrapin Brewery. Has a medium brown color with a malty aroma. Taste is mostly of hops, though some of the extra roasted characters in the malt came through. An impressive beer.

12 oz bottle. Dark, but clear, garnet with a few bubbles and a ring. Nose is orange and grapefruit with a bit of cocoa. Medium light, kind of fizzy. Taste is grapefruit and lemon candy with bitter coffee. Not the most harmonious blending of styles but still worth a try.

On tap at Relight. Pours brown with a thick foam tan head. Smell is mostly fresh pine with a little brown sugar and biscuit. Taste is strong on the bitter hops with lots of grapefruit. The brown part really did not have much taste due to the overpowering hops. Still very good, though.

12oz bottle from nearbeer. Got this one in our first trade. Just getting to it now. Served at cellar temperature. Poured a clear ruddy brown color. The head was tan with an orange tint. Fruit dominated aroma that included the likes of pineapple and orange. When sniffed directly from the bottle I got mostly malt, namely toffee and burnt caramel. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet with mild hop bitterness. Tasted mostly of sharp citrusy hops and a bit of roast. I also noticed a bit of mango. Thinner than I had expected, but nice. An easy drinker.
