Commercial Description:
"India Style Brown Ale - 6% ABV. A head on collision of a hoppy, west coast IPA and a complex, malty brown ale...basically an IPA with a roasty backbone.”

On draught at Bonnaroo: This brew pours a nice nut brown colour with a medium sized tan head. Aromas are nutty, caramel and hint of raisins. Taste is very pleasent, creamy- noticeably hop character, very tastey all around.

draft at mellow mushroom ($2 on terrapin tuesday in kennesaw) nice brown color. wow, alot more hops than i would expect, they are more pronounced than the nutty brown side. much better than the dogfish head IBA. this is my favorite from terrapin

Draft-Nashville. Holy Crap this was hoppy for a Brown Ale. A nice kick in the teeth with a sweet, mellow, malty finish. Never had anything like this one.

Draught. Brown slightly cloudy pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of malt and faint hops. Taste of caramel malt and coffee with a surprisingly strong hoppy finish.

Draft at the grand opening of the new brewery. Color is a nice deep mahogany. Medium sized, mother of pearl color head. Earthy, hoppy aroma. Hoppy taste with a sweet caramel backbone.

Draft @ the GOBF. Pours a chocolaty brown with a thick creamy head. Roasty grain aroma along with lots of citrus and pine. Chocolate malt, roasted grain creamy taste. Finishes with a hoppy bitterness. Really a unique beer and I can’t wait to get this in bottle.

Pours dark brown with hints of amber with a dense one inch head that showed solid retention and very good lacing. Smell is much more typical of an IPA than a brown ale. There’s a huge resiny pine hop aroma up front with a decent amount of citrus thrown in as well. Only a hint of sweet malts in the nose. Much like the smell, taste is dominated by the hops - pine, grass, grapefruit. There is a little more sweet malt presence with some caramel and bread. Still, for a brown ale, this is really hoppy. Very smooth but extremely crisp in the finish with a hop bite in the aftertaste. I really liked this beer though I have a hard time comparing it to brown ales. Either way, this is one I will buy again.

darft @ ravenous pig beer dinner. Paired with fois gras. Some citrus notes in the nose with a hint of toasty nuttiness. Pours a light brown. Bitter hops, some citrus, with a good dose of roasted malts, with a slight nutty toasty flavor. This paired very well with the seared fois gras! The hops cut through the fat in the liver while the roastinees blended well with the caramalization on the seared foi gras!
