Commercial Description:
"India Style Brown Ale - 6% ABV. A head on collision of a hoppy, west coast IPA and a complex, malty brown ale...basically an IPA with a roasty backbone.”

(bottle) Dark brown body with bright ruby highlights. Small brown head. Delicious aroma of sweet, dark malt, berries, earth, and hops. Medium bodied, with a bit of lively carbonation. The flavor is rich and sweet with dark sugar, a slight tartness, and moderately hoppy. The sweetness and hops interplay well with each other here. Left some nice lace on the glass.

Bottle from utobeer had at home. Aroma is very nice, good blend of citrusy lychee pineapple hop, small hints of the roasty malt, but caramlt is the sweetness. Taste has good ipa characteristics, the roastyness seems a bit unnessesary, its a tasty drink all the same. Good ipa.

Bottled. Poured deeper brown with a tight-bubbled cap of beige head. The aroma picked up a lovely array of sweet earth, brown sugar, and caramel notes topped by pine and citrus hoppage.. toasty and enticing. The flavor had primarily brown sugar and caramel at the sweet, toasty core with bitter earth and pine resin notes around.. tacky and bitter on the finish, losing a step. Medium-bodied with tight carbonation at times and a bit of an empty feel at others.. balance was decent. I enjoyed this overall.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear deep ruby red with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left spotty lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, overripe orange and earthy wet leaves. The flavor is very similar to the aroma with perhaps a bit less orange. Medium bitterness at the finish. Probably not a beer I would seek out on a regular basis, but no problems and worth trying.

Caramel, citrusy, roasty aroma, much more aromatic than many other Terrapin offerings... Pours a clear deep brown with a nice head... Flavor is roasty, burnt, hoppy, very very flavorful.... Drying on the palate lingers.... Good offering....

If this was supposed to be balanced, it wasn’t. A lot more hops than I was expecting and an odd almost gritty kind of mouthfeel. Didn’t have the malts I was looking for in the background. I was sad this wasn’t better

Thanks to markwise. Clear medium-dark brown, frothy tan head. Aroma is mostly floral hops with citrus and yeast around the edges. Flavor leads with the hoppy elements, as well, again mostly floral with just a bit of citrus. Hops aromas and hops bitterness are well paired. The darker malts only peek out a little bit on the finish, some chocolate and tobacco here, rather resinous. Medium body, smooth, slightly sparkling on the palate.

12 oz. bottle at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured reddish brown with fizzy tan head. Sweet, nutty flavor with a dry, citrusy, Cascade-dominated finish. Interesting, not sure I’ve had one quite like this.
