on draft at Trappeze in Athens. Lots of caramel with subdued hops. evidence of bitterness as it warms, but smooth on palate with hops in the aftertaste. Crazy lacing. Wood flavor balances the perfectly along with the carbonation. Alcohol is also balanced well. Overall, one of the best wood aged beers, as well as one of the best beers, I have had. This pint was truly heaven in a glass. I can honestly say this is the best beer I have had.

My first time at the new tylers! Amber/brownish pour with frothy off-white head. Sweet caramel malts and oak on the nose. Citrus, rye, oak, vanilla, and hops. Oak and rye mix well together

Mode: Draft
Source: Brick Store Pub

Appearance: clear amber, frothy off white head, solid patterned lace,
Aroma: sweet pine and crystal malt aroma, touch of fruityness, oak starts off light and builds pull in the vanilla with it and takes over the sweet pine and crystal,
Body: creamy body,
Flavor: big oak and malt flavor, lots of earthy oak balances the sweetness of the base beer, the sweet pine breaks through for a while, vanilla adds more complexity than sweetness, bitterness adds balance but stays out of the way of the complex flavors, sweet crystal malt shows back up towards the bottom of the pint,
Overall: sweet oak and pine

picking up a lot more of the fruityness and pine of the base beer with the oak coming later, I can see where people say it is not too oaky, on this keg, for the first third of the pint,

been drinking this here for the past few days and noticing a daily fluxuation in the level or oak, depending on your desired level of oak it will be perfect eventually,

On tap at the Brick Store. This Imperial IPA pours a medium amber color. Small sized white foamy head, with good lacing and nice retention. The aroma is oak, hops and malts. A medium to full bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are caramel and sweet, touch of oak and vanilla. Hops are piney and grapefruity. Hints of oak and a touch or vanilla. Those flavors really balance the hop bitterness. Good carbonation. The barrel aging really adds a nice dimension to this beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with some vanilla at the finish.

Draft at The Ravenous Pig beer dinner, paired with braised pork belly. Paired with a glass of Springbank after dinner. Know that. Clear rusty amber. A little bit of off white carbonation. Oak (vanilla, toast, earth), hops (bitter, resinous, pine), a little sweet malt (caramel, toffee, toast), and a light dose of rye (clean, lightly spicy grain). Full body, more smooth than balanced, lightly viscous. Excellent brew, best I’ve had from Terrapin.

Tap at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours a clear copper with a large long lasting off-white head that leaves great lacing. Aroma is loaded with citrus hops with notes of sweet malt, caramel, spicy rye, oak, and vanilla. Taste is the same as aroma but not as prominent. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. My favorite brew from Terrapin.

On tap at the Oldsmar Tap House. Thanks to owner Tony for bringing this in. Pours clear copper with nice nearly frothy off white head. The aroma is malty caramel goodness with mild oak and swirls of sweet late addition citrus hops. The oak note seems at just the right strength to compliment and play nicely wit the other notes. Smells D-Lish. The taste is caramel malts, citrus hops, pine hop bitterness and mild notes of wood oakiness. Just as in the nose there is a terrific balance between malts, oak, hops and then some of that distinctive rye twang. Yum.
