Aroma is a little hoppy with a slight hint of spice. Color is a honey amber with an off-white head. Flavor is clean and dry, bitter without being over the top. A little rye character in there. Balanced but not much malt in there. A descent pale ale without pushing the boundaries. Beerman6686 (1292), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Pours an amber color with an off white head. Aroma was mild hops, grassy notes and sour rye. Flavor was smooth hop backbone controlled by hop notes and slight hints of rye. A pretty darn good pale ale. Paul150 (37), , Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 25, 2008 Living in Athens, this has become one of my recent staples. Pours a nice amber color with a slight aroma of floral hops. Flavor is strong, the rye comes out before being overtaken by a strong, but not overpowering hop taste. Overall a very well-balanced beer. cheapdark (2044), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 18, 2008 TER RYE PALE ALE S6L3F2T4O7 Brown 12 oz bottle. Pop the lid and get a prominent milky grainy aroma. Weird near hop olfactory. Good creamy head pale yellow appearance. Comes across rather strong and on the alky side. Little carbonation. A little more bitter than APA. Probably should be in the specialty grains category. Medicinal grainy finish reminiscent of IPA hops but somehow not. Seems to be much stronger than the 5% listed here. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Bottle. Body is a very thin and transparent amber. Quite a bit of carbonation and a small sudsy head. Aromas are kind of weak... mostly a floral hops presence there, but a touch of citrus lurks quietly, too. Flavor is very nice and fairly bold. Just for a split second I thought I picked up the rye on the front edge of the first sip... it quickly got swallowed up in a wave of crisp hops. Pine and citrus hops are pleasant enough and the malt does a great job balancing things. smackie (45), St. Augustine, Florida, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Bottle. Pale orange color, minimal head but seems to linger all the way down the glass. Flavor is crisp floral hop with a hint of citrus. Large malty rye backbone to keep the hops from overwhelming. I really dig the rye addition, it adds a distinctive quality and seems to mellow the hop profile. Medium bodied, finish is lingering and a bit syrupy. Nice. biznizness (952), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA

I guess this is the first rye pale ale Ive had... ever? Had this at Joels in Mo-ville a few days before Vs birthday. Looking forward to trying some other Terrapin brews.
