Commercial Description:
We Consider this an extreme version of an American Pale Ale. It has a very up front floral and citrus aroma from a late cascade addition and dry hopping with Amarillo. This beer also has a big malt background to balance the bitterness of the hops. The rye malt cleans up your palette after you swallow so the hop flavor does not stick in your mouth too long.
Now available in bottles.

Not much to say here. This is perhaps my new favorite. Needed to rate this. Have I said enough?

Bottle. Pale orange color, minimal head but seems to linger all the way down the glass. Flavor is crisp floral hop with a hint of citrus. Large malty rye backbone to keep the hops from overwhelming. I really dig the rye addition, it adds a distinctive quality and seems to mellow the hop profile. Medium bodied, finish is lingering and a bit syrupy. Nice.

This is certainly interesting. Cant say that I was in love with the rye at first. I guess this is the first rye pale ale Ive had... ever? Had this at Joels in Mo-ville a few days before Vs birthday. Looking forward to trying some other Terrapin brews.

This poured copper in color with a thin white head that almost dissipated away. The nose was filled with citrus, rye, herbs and caramel. In the mouth it was quite dry and showed off the rye here more than in the nose. A plesant beer but lacking some depth...the depth and concentration that was apparent in the Rye Squarred which I definitely prefer.

Sampled at the Great Decatur Beer Tasting Festival in Georgia on 10/18/08. Golden in color. Rye and pine hops on the nose. Rye is definitely present combines with some grapefruit and slight hoppy bitterness.

Poured a crystal clear amber color with a tall creamy tan head. There was a light amount of carb bubbles in the glass. This beer looked great in the glass. Very inviting to drink. There was a big grapefruit aroma. There was a clean crisp citrus flavor initially that rolled into a mild crisp bitterness with a very slight dry finish. The head left nice lacing throughout the glass. This was a very easy drinking enjoyable beer.

Rye malts, light citrus, and grass in the aroma. Pours an orange tone with a thin head and some lacing. Spicy, grainy, and sweet rye malt flavors followed by light citrus and grassy hops. Decent carbonation, lighter body, some rye sweetness in the finish. This kind of bores me, but it could be worse.

A decent rye APA but not as good as I was hoping. Aroma was very nice. Sweet rye malt with some grassy and earthy hops. Pour was beautiful. Deep dark red with a nice 2 finger of white head. Taste was a bit disappointing. Watery and thin with a lot of sweet rye and sugar. The hops and malt seem like they are fighting each other. Decent carbonation. I love rye pale ales...this was just too thin.
