Nose is slight hop with a floral and citrusy making the biggest splash. Flavor wise its like a mild IPA, hops and very slight hint of the namesake rye. Enjoyable, but not as good as their Big Hoppy monster! fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Yellow pour with a decent head. Some bright fruit aromas, and some hop presence on the finish. Pretty good. Allthatisevil (48), alabaster, Alabama, USA

Has a mild rye (w\ may be a hint of orange) smell. A lite colour. Very little head. Slightly bitter. All in all it’s a good easy to drink beer! wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA

Finish is quick. Beer does clean your palate its like an astringent. BigMilly8 (376), Holiday, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 26, 2007 From bottle : Pours a medium gold, somewhat clear with a small white head that quickly dies to a white foamy ring but leaves nice lacing on the glass. Nose of big floral and citrus hops. A little bit of bitterness up front then a big wave of sweet malts calm the bitterness down, and has a very nice finish. Palate is thicker than most APA that i have had, a little sticky towards the end but nothing too bad. Quite good. dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Not a bad beer. The first thing that hit me was the sweet citrus nose and I was thinking "this will be way too much" and it was (but not in a bad way). Sweet malty flavor with a wee bit of hops, the body was a little heavy and cloying and the finish seems to be a long sweet ending. I’d drink it again. scottyw (46), Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Had this both from 12oz bottle and from draft. Can sense the rye much more in the draft, but the bottle is still a great find. Pours a nice golden color with a creamy head. Aroma features a base of bread and hops with some sweetness in there. Flavor is sweet with a bit of bitterness..definitely gets a bit sticky palate to match the sweetness as it warms. Great choice.
