I don’t think the rye malts are as present as they might be, but this is one fine and drinkable brew. I plan to keep it in regular rotation during the warm months. alexanderj (2263), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2007 Updated: Jun 4, 2008Rerate; bottle. Poured an amber color, not much head. Aroma was lighter than I remembered, but still malt heavy. A little hoppier than I remembered, which I liked. Overall not much to say differently, although I really think that it is a very good version of the style now. 3.4 to 3.5. (Bottle; poured a light amber. Aroma was a little too heavy on the malt for my liking; didnt pick up on much hops. Good session beer; nice blend of malt, rye and hops flavors. Not much after taste; good mouthfeel.) golubj (1288), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 27, 2007 Bottle. Nice aroma of hops, malt/grain, and some sugar. Very good mouthfeel. A sweet flavor with a mild hop presence. Crisp finish. One of the better pale ales I have had. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 27, 2007 Bottle. Mostly diminishing white head. Slightly cloudy dark orange color. Aroma was light; Grapefruit with some floral hops. Flavor initially lightly sweet and finishes with some bitterness. Texture is slightly watery. Overall much probably best pale ale I have ever had, but it is still a pale ale. BeerloverEJ21 (131), Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 22, 2007 On the pour, white head, small, deminishing. Nice aroma, strong hoppiness and yeast content. Left a little bit of an aftertaste. Terrapin normally isnt my favorite, but Id say this was the best one I’ve had yet. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 14, 2007 Served in my Dogfish Head pub pint glass.
Pours a amber color with a slight head. Slight lacing left on the side of the glass.
There’s a little hint of hops in the nose.
The taste is pretty average. Some hops can be found, blended in with a pretty good ale.
This is a good everyday beer. It’s highly sessionable and goes down quite easy. Not something to write home about, but it would be nice to see a sixer in the fridge. brianprentiss (475), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Very strong offering from Terrapin - probably the best brewer in the South (Sweetwater is close.) This PA is very balaced and one of the best standard PA’s you will find - over 90th percentile for PA’s. mcbackus (750), Merritt Island, Florida, USA
