Medium thick red brown with an okay offwhite head. Smell is a hint alcohol and some big rye notes. Flavor is rye bread and alcohol. Palate is thick and smooth. It has this ammonia finish to it that isn’t too refreshing. Overall, seemingly a good and solid beer - but I am just not a fan of ammonia or rye. changeup45 (800), Orlando, Florida, USA

Deep amber colored with a moderate foamy head. Pretty nice citrus fruity hoppy aroma with some rye malts evident. Rich caramel, grainy malts mixed with bitter hops with a touch of citrus fruits and we have a delicious blend of flavors. This is a seasonal beer so if you see it I definitely recommend giving it a try! CelticBrew (707), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Pours a hazy ruby/coppery color, forms small off white foamy head. Aroma of faint grapefruit hops and malts. Ocean water and lite peppery spices sneak in too. Flavour is of a soft rye and hop flavour, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Very tastey and smooth beer, absolutely no alcohol detected. Pine resin comes through in the end as well, overall superb beer. GAManiac (1191), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy deep coppery amber with an off-white one-finger head dissipating very quickly leaving very little lacing. Rye malts were evident from the moment the bottle was opened. Spicy, hoppy aroma played only a supporting role in this brew dominated by the rye. Hops are more evident in the taste than the smell. Sweet malty flavor takes over after initial hop impression. I also got a slight hint of pine and caramel. Dominant malts leads to a slightly heavy and creamy feel. Bitter aftertaste lingers a while. This is another pretty unique brew from Terrapin. It’s a little bit astringent with the aftertaste, so I’d definitely categorize this as a sipper. Acknud (792), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Strong pine/citrus hop nose, with an underlying spiciness. Pours a hazy reddish amber, with a thin cap of off-white head. The flavor starts with caramel and fades to a bitter finish with rye underlying it. Fairly thick mouthfeel, no noticeable alcohol taste. Very tasty. malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Hazy amber with lasting flat head and lace. Mild spicy piney aroma with faint alcohol. Decent spicy rye malt flavor with medium sugary sweetness and medium bitter hop finish with medium alcohol burn. Medium-full body and medium carbo, slight carbo bite. A little harsh. Not very pleasing.
