Strong hops aroma, with alcohol and distant caramel. Clear amber with off white head, Smooth in the mouth. A little sweetness trying to offset the hop assault which mostly resiny with some citrus edge, throw in the alcohol and some flat caramel. something to linger over.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Orange amber color with a slight hazy. Creamy off white head. Honey sweet nose with lots of candied orange rind and some pine. Tastes of old fashioned buscuits with honey. Thick, slick mouthfeel. Lots of hops in here with grapefruit rind, apricot, apple sauce, and a long bitter hop resin finish. It hides the 8.5% very well. Great mouthfeel on this one. Thanks to whomever sent this bottle to me in trade. forsides (85), union, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is chocolate malts and toast. A lot of malt in the mouth along with dark chocolate. Malts definitely overpower the hops. AmEricanbrew (1929), orange, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Pours a hazy golden amber with a decent sized white head.... Aroma is somewhat hoppy, caramel malty, slightly fruity with some noticable spiciness... Flavor has some rye in behind a creamy body filled with sweet malts and some hops... A little weighty, creamy, medium full bodied... Aside from the Coffee Oatmeal, Terrapin has fallen a bit short of expectations.... ditmier (1110), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2009 12oz bottle courtesy of Firemoose15. Really inviting looking beer. Nose is roasted malts and touches of citrus fruit (tangerine?) mixing with dark raisins and figs. Flavor is the dark malts upfront, and some sweetness from the rye and then a nice dose of hoppy grapefruit takes over. FInish is clean and the abv is well hidden. Nice beer - didn’t last long at all. Thanks, Mel!
