Pour is ruby cordovan, mostly clear with an off white head that fades pretty fast. Aroma of mild peatiness, a little bit smoked, toasted malt behind that. Taste is caramel toasty malt, peaty and slightly roasted. Palate is medium to thin, roast lingers a bit nicely. Thanks Eugene. tjthresh (1778), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

Pours a very dark brown that allows no light to pass when held against sunlight. There is a moderate tan head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left some scattered patches of lace. Pleasant malty aroma with a bit of earthiness. The flavor is again slightly earthy malt with a bit of brown sugar sweetness. Not as rich or full bodied as I would expect in a scotch ale, but otherwise a solid offering. Ungstrup (15337), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2009 bomber. Pours brown with a well formed head. The aroma has some light corn, though is malty with earthy notes and hints of caramel and wood. This is an easy sipper, well balanced, and quaffable. A nice coffee edge is noted in the flavor with a malt heavy emphasis on the palate. 90 Shelling is arguably the least experimental and most textbook of Terrapin’s Side Project series, but it’s not bad. Not bad at all.
