Commercial Description:
The Terrapin ""Dos Cocoas"" gets its name from the deep history of chocolate and the two forms of Ecuadorian cocoa we use in this exceptional beer. Brewed with 100% cocoa powder, and aged on a bed of pure cocoa nibs, the chocolate flavor in this beer is so mouth watering it will even make Wonka jealous.

Bomber courtesy of JCB. Pours black with reddish hues and a 2 finger tan head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is roasted malt and light cocoa. The taste is milk chocolate, powdered cocoa, roast and some light coffee/hops in the finish. Light-to-medium bodied. Decent. Thanks Jason!

Picked up a single 22-oz bomber via trade with KieferUGA. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick and lumpy tan head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of mostly powdered baking chocolate with some toasted dark malt, a hint of coffee and some molasses. Taste continues the chocolate presence medium bodied with additional flavors of toasted dark malt, some molasses, roasted nuts and caramel. Finish is semi-sweet with a short lived chocolate aftertaste that even goes down smooth. NIcely done.

Courtesy of Skyview. Black color with a large head. Light chocolate malt aroma. Nothing light about the chocolate flavor though. Very strong along with a sweet and roasted malt base. Some English earthy hops towards the finish. Excellent brew.

Pours out black brown with lite foam. Smells sweet and roasty. Taste is the same with nice cocoa flavor. Nice coffee and chocolate flavors, dry finish. Thinner than some, very drinkable, good brew.

22 ounce bottle shared by cdumler. Thanks! Pours a reddish brown color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Chocolate completely dominates the aroma, both powdered cocoa and milk chocolate. Nothing else is left standing. Taste is green apple, powdered cocoa and other subtle fruit notes. Medium-full bodied.

22oz bottle 2/28/09 (Knightly Spirits)-Pours a dark black body with a nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and some coffee. Taste of the same with a nice dry finish. This full bodied brew is pretty tasty but was expecting more chocolate but this is till well balanced and tasty.

22 oz from Emacgee. Dark brown in color with a tan head and some copper/red highlights. Aroma of chocolate, very light roast, some molasses and earth. Taste of dry chocolate, molasses, light roast- light to medium bodied, touches of chalk, light to moderate hop bitterness in the finish. Pretty nice...

22oz from Sam’s, Durham. Pour is thinner than I expected, dark brown with a mild gleaming center and a minimal head. The aroma, too, is understated, with a moderate roasted dimension to it and some detectable dark chocolate. Not as big as I’d anticipated, and I’d say the same is true for the flavor. I actually get very little bitterness here, leaving the somewhat average base porter exposed. Some choc for sure, but not enough depth for me.
