Smooth creamy chocolate on the nose, hints of roasted and chocolate malts. Pours dark dark brown pretty much black with a thick tan head. Smooth coffee flavors and creamy chocolate, cafe mocha, slightly thin for a porter but it is silky smooth still. Excellent beer! AR (437), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2009 This is a nice, smooth porter that is easy on the palate. There is a chocolate/coffee flavor that lingers well. juiceisloose (671), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2009 Pours a dark brown color with a small, foamy beige colored head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is chocolate forward with milk chocolate, cocoa powder, and roasted dark chocolate. The flavor follows suit with the milk and bitter sweet chocolate varieties. A touch of roast and coffee comes through as well. Medium bodied but a bit thin for the style with decent carbonation and a long, chocolatey sweet finish. Pretty good taste, but could use a bit more roasty flavors in there. Tasty beer though, and one of the best of the series so far. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

It is easy to think that this beer is more because of the "chocolate" part in front, but it has more porterness to it. It pours dark black with a fizzy white head. Nose is chocolate and roasted malt. Very true to style, it is a dry porter, and not a chocolate beer. Sweet finish, but it leaves without saying goodbye or loitering. Very roasty, but overall not bad. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 12, 2009 Very dark brown with a small tan head. Strong cocoa powder presence in this one. As a porter it seems a touch thin but the chocolate flavor is enjoyable enough to carry this one. arrogantb (714), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2009 22oz bottle that was about $7 in Chattanooga. Solid black, smells roasty but only the faintest hint of chocolate in the aroma which for all I know could be the power of suggestion based upon the label. The flavor is nice chocolate porter but not really sweet. It needs more chocolate. And alcohol.
