| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Beer pours black with hints of brown. No head to speak of. The nose is extraordinary chocolate, and only chocolate. Body is thin and does not follow through with chocolate flavors like one would expect. Coffee is present on the palate as well. A good beer, but would have been better in an imperial style. SuzyGreenberg (1408), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2009 22oz. bomber with thanks to Beerlando for the great bonus! Pours dark brown with a moderate fluffy tan head. Aroma is cocoa powder, chocolate malts and some coffee. Flavor is milder with mostly chocolate malts along with some lesser notes of coffee and cocoa. Not a bad porter, but found the cocoa and chocolate to be a bit minor to what I was hoping for along with a thinner body. Thanks again Bryan! Sonicdescent (382), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Aug 22, 2009 ours a dark brown that looks completely black without holding it up to light. Head is one finger of tan foam into a crown.
Smells similar to terrapins sublime wake and bake. Surprisingly low on the chocolate, more roasted Malts.
Taste is also surprisingly low on chocolate. It makes for a damn good porter but someone expecting choklat will be let down. Cream, coffee, roasted flavors are prominent with little to no alcohol or hop presence. Taste and body similar to a milk stout.
Mouth is medium in body and carbonation. I’d love to see a thicker and flatter version of this.
Very good drink but really misleading. A damn solid porter but not worth the special release status and price. JaBier (1261), Capital City, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2009 Bottle at my refrigerator reduction tasting on 8/15/09. Black pour with a thin beige head. Roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee. Malty flavor with some roastiness. Not as deep in the chocolate department as I expected.
