| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Has a crazy amount of complexity. The aroma is sweet and lively. It has flavors of banana, honey, and herbs. The alcohol is really present in this one, but not too overpowering. patrickfannon (367), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Draft. Pours slightly transluscent orange with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of lavander, hops, banana, clove, oranges. Medium bodied with a tangy, smooth mouthfeel. Finishes clean and quick, with some tart aftertaste. Very good barley wine. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 11, 2009 I think wheat wine (or imperial wit or how about imperial honey?) would define this style but the alcohol is very well hidden except in the aroma. Before getting into craft beer, I was a wheat beer freak. This one is very tasty to me with the mixture of honey which seem to add an obscene amount of sweetness initially but once the taste buds settle, give it a bubble gum-like aftertaste. The usual wheat suspects of orange, clove, flowers, bananas (dominant) and coriander also appear but not in significant quantities compared to the honey rampage happening here. My verdict: tasty but too much honey and bubblegum. Body too light. alagnak (359), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Bottle generously bonused by bvc. Pours pretty deep cloudy orange. Nice looking beer. Aroma is nice, sweet bananas and estery bubblegum. Flavor is the same but completely over the top - when cold - it’s banana cream pie with a little boozy liquer to finish. As it warms - the sweetness shows (don’t taste the honey explicitly, but imagine that’s it) as it’s an assault of baseball card bubblegum and even candy corn (which I sadistically enjoy this time of year - but not in my beer). All in all - agree with others that it’s more of an imperial hefe than a barleywine. Certainly unique. Thankls for giving me a chance to try this one, Brandon. daknole (3000), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

The nose is sweet wheat, caramel malt and bubblegum. The taste follows suit with some sweet fruits mixed in. Too sweet for me, but well crafted. JohnnyJ (1351), Carlsbad, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Strange barleywine. Hazy orange amber pour, off-white head. Sweet malt, honey, wheat, flowers, banana, and some citrus. Some alcohol comes through. To sweet for my taste.
