Commercial Description:
2008 will forever be known in professional brewing circles as the year of the Hop Shortage. Brewers everywhere are scrambling to find hops just to produce their standard line of beers. Some are so nervous they are even cutting back on brewing hoppy beers. NOT US! In typical Terrapin fashion we are going against the grain (or against the hops, so the speak). If there is going to be a shortage of hops, why not put them all into one huge hop bomb of a beer? We hope you enjoy our HOP SHORTAGE ALE.

22 oz. bottle - thanks to gottalottaibu for the trade; pours clear and copper gold with white had that fades quickly; aromas are on the mild side and a mix of sweet and bitter hops, grain and alcohol; sort of like orange peels; body is thin with little malt support; bitterness is low, but hop mixture seems a little all over the place

Bottle. to be frank there was no shortage of hops in this bomber. Pours amber with small off white head and mild co2. Aroma is pine, citrus, hop flowers, and some malt. Flavor is just that with a huge citrus pine finish. Really good.

Poured a clear amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, sweeter caramel malts, citrus fruits, pine, and dank grass. Taste of hops, bitter grapefruit, resiny pine, toasted malts, sweet toffee, and a dry, bitter finish.

Bomber courtesy of aracauna. Pours a slightly hazy amber with initial 2 finger head. Great lacing. Nose is mild pine, citrus and sweet malt. Palate is much the same. Mildly hoppy with grapefruit and a bit of resin at the end. Maybe I’m just used to west coast IPAs. Not a bad beer and an easier drinker, but nothing sticks out either.

22 oz. bottle purchased at Willow Bend Liquors (Lutz, FL) pours a clear copper amber color with a dense frothy white head and good lacing around the glass. Great hoppy aroma, includes pine and grapefruit. The flavor is delicious and surprisingly smooth. I was expecting a overwhelming amount of hops in the flavor but I think they got it just right. Nice amount of bitterness in the finish. Very tasty!

650.6 mL bottle fromPeabodys Wine and Beer. Thick creamy head dissipating rapidly. Orange-golden color. Looks Yummy. Loads of hop aroma. Hints of pine aroma, and slight alcohol. Delicious!!! Taste of hops (duh), loads of hops, molasses, and possibly some vanilla and orange, alcohol very well hidden. Initial taste fades to leave little after taste. However, very balanced considering the hop junkies these folks are. Would be nice after a long summer day!

Bottle, thanks general_gao. The body was medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma was strong grapefruit with some alonds. There was also some toast and sweat. The taste was bitter bread crust. There was also some apple core. A good IPA.

I love these one of a kind special releases. Bomber pours deep gold with copper core and one inch light tan head. The aroma is moderate in strength containing floral, spice and a hint of bitter citrus hops. There’s also some faint malt sweetness underneath hinting at the tasty malt backbone to come in the flavor. The taste is smooth and contains even amounts of assorted hops, malt sweetness and a touch of grainy malt. To midway citrus hop bitterness builds faster than the sweet malt backbone creating a bitter grapefruit tartness that over shadows mild orange juice sweetness.
