Lots of tart apple in the nose, with some honey and spice detectable too. Thinnish body, at times almost weirdly slick. Not much of a mouthfeel, in all honesty. The flavor is like watered-down honey, with sub-par Weiss characteristics and only the mildest yeast/spice/dryness dimensions that I expect for the style. Underwhelming in every way. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Pale hazy deep yellow, slight head. Spicy aroma, reminiscent of coriander and a dash of white pepper. Flavor is pale honey accented malts, spices like what found on the nose. There is also a very faint tinge of sour acidity going on here with a citric accented finish. Nice, easy drinking saison.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Pours a rather typical clear straw yellow with a so-so white head, not very inspiring. Fortunately, this is the beer’s weakest aspect. Aroma is more inviting, wheaty and yeasty with a slight citrus overtone. Flavor is even better, mouth-filling, malty and yeasty with a whisper of lemon and a hint of hops. Texture is nice and smooth and fairly fizzy, leaving a tingly and slightly tart finish. michael-pollack (2711), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Bottle: Aroma of yeast, coriander, slight pepper, slight fruit, slight spices, and some clove. Poured yellow/gold in color with a small, white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is slightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of coriander, pepper, fruit, yeast, grains, slight clove, and some pear. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Spice, pepper, coriander, and yeast finish. TURDFERGUSON (1604), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Bottle shared by emacgee. Golden with a small white lace. Nose is greassy, herbal, yeast. Flavor is more yeast, light citrus, banana, and boring. Lacks finesse or jazz or how do you say? character. Just kinda sloppily put together and it shows. emacgee (1891), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Pours a soft hazy gold with a one finger creamy white head. There is some funk on the nose from the yeast, a bit of wheat, some grassy hop character with a bit of citrus rind. The flavor is really bland, some funky yeasty character, mild isoamyl acetate. Soft carbonation on the mouth. Not too hot. jhumphries69 (730), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
