Commercial Description:
Volume 5: This new age beer style is a fusion of two great brewing traditions that are worlds apart - a hoppy American Double IPA and a classic Belgian Tripel. Beware the Gnome in the funny green hat!

22oz bottle from beersommelier..... pours a semi-transparent medium apricot brown with a thin soapy white head.....aroma of sweet fruits, honey, apple, and a little must....reminds me somewhat of a belgian triple with lots of sweet sugar and sweet fruit only to be topped off with a lingering bitterness in the finish. semi-lively carbonation. def. boozy in the finish.

22 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with GAManiac. Pours a slightly hazed gold. Sweet aroma of apples and Belgian yeast. The flavor is malt with some mild apples and citrus, and is not as sweet as the aroma suggests. Medium bitterness at the finish with some alcohol heat present as well.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Greens Discount Beverage - Atlanta (Buford Hwy), 6/2/09

Aroma: Nose is mostly the Belgian yeast and fruits, some light earthy hops in there too, a little alcohol in there too
Appearance: Clear Orange color, slight red hue to it, very little head, some decent lacing on the glass
Flavor: Hops are more prevalent than in the nose, pretty balanced brew, but you can taste the IPA characteristics. Lingering bitterness and alcohol taste
Palate: Medium bodied beer, has a decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I like what they were trying to do here, but it didn’t quite work. It was a decent attempt, and I’m a fan of breweries attempting things like this, so I gave it an extra Overall point for that.

Aroma is very weak, light pine hops. Taste is also really light for a DIPA. Really bland.

Bottle. Pours clear orange with an average, rocky, white head, diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, straw), heavy hop (pine, citrus, flowers, grass), heavy yeast (dough, sweat) with notes of grape, apple, pear, and peach. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Bottle: Hazy pour with a wispy off white head- phenolic aroma- some fruity Belgian yeast esters mesh with fruity U.S. hop notes. Creamy feel- chalky flavor with some dryish phenolics and subdued American hops behind the yeast. Simple.

Letdown. Little "Belgian" taste to this beer. Light hops. Little yeasty taste. Almost a pale ale.

Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pours a clear light gold with a light white head. Clean citrus hops, and a big ol wheaty gumball note. Medium bodied and sweet with some caramel notes. Finishes with a light crisp honey bitterness. Tasty.
