Burnt orange color with a medium, fizzy head. Lovely smoky wood aroma with sweet caramel malt, a bit of cherries and finishing with some earthy spice. Medium to light bodied. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours a clear brown reddish color with a light beige head. Smell is lightly smoky and malty. Taste is smoky but not overly so, and with a nice crisp malt flavor behind it. Not sure the rye is abundantly obvious, but it is good nonetheless, and crisp. Light hop bitterness. Not bad at all. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA

Lightly sweet malt and a touch of smoke in the nose. This is a fairly drinkable brew with a touch of smoky malt and a noticeable bit of rye. Fairly clean for such an interesting brew. Medium body with plenty of carbonation. undsioux7 (561), Cologne, Minnesota, USA

Neutral aroma, very brief hint of peat. Dark copper pour - little to no head retention. Flavor has some BBQ sauce smoky sweetness - not overpowering or cloying. Some salty nuts, and a hint of Levi Garrett chewing tobacco and a hint of peat. Thick enough mouthfeel. Overall, let’s call this one average. grimreeser (797), Minnesota, USA

Flavor is very smokey with a small bite at the end. I think this is very good. Not sure about all of the bad ratings. Maybe my smoke palate is not up to par with everyone elses.
