Commercial Description:
The Sunray Wheat is a German style unfiltered wheat beer brewed with a touch of local, Georgia Coast, Tupelo honey from the Savannah Bee Company. It’s inviting banana/sweet clove like aroma gives way to a pleasant, clean finish with a hint of tartness.

aroma is bright and citrusy. flavor is typical of the style, a little thin on the flavor profile, but the honey adds a nice extra dimension. a wheat ale with a spin. i like it.

Pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a one finger white head. The nose is banana, wheaty, yeasty, some clove and spice. Flavor is very easy going, less banana and yeast, some orange peel and fruit comes through. Palate is clean and crisp with some orange rind. Very nice for a hot summer afternoon.

Babyfood clove aroma with some chlorophenols. Hazy golden, somewhat witbierish, with a medium snow white head. Lemony wheat flavor with a certain je ne sais quoi. Clean finish. Very refreshing, but unpleasantly phenolic.

Poured a very light hazy yellow with a thin white haed that disappeared quickly. Lots of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. There was a sweet honey and orange aroma. There was good carbonation and the taste was crisp, refreshing and slightly tart with a bit of citrus. The flavor mellowed out and didn’t leave to much on the finish.

Transparent gold, small white head gone quickly. Sweet nose of lemon and grass, some wheat. Flavor has more bitter wheat, some citrus, metal, and medicine. Highly carbonated, rather sticky. Pleasant, but not standout or particularly interesting, and the flavor has some odd notes.

12oz bottle. Pours orange-gold with slight haze and thin, short-lived white head that consists of fairly large but not quite soapy. Aroma is wheaty and sweet and quite perfumey. Flavor follows aroma - wheaty and malty with some flowery honey esters at mid-palate along with very light neutral bitterness that just balances the maltiness. Finish is crisp and malty with more perfuminess. Mouthfeel is crisp and medium-bodied. Overall, a very drinkable wheat beer that is a little closer to German hefes than other American wheat beers - though only a little. Tasty.

Tap at ACBF. Oh my. Phenol overload in the aroma. Tone it down, bro. Flavor had some lime character in addition to more phenols, pretty sweet, though not much distinct wheat character either. Drinkable but probably would have quickly become overly sweet. Not much of a fan.
