Commercial Description:
The Sunray Wheat is a German style unfiltered wheat beer brewed with a touch of local, Georgia Coast, Tupelo honey from the Savannah Bee Company. It’s inviting banana/sweet clove like aroma gives way to a pleasant, clean finish with a hint of tartness.

Nice cloudy yellow pour with visible carbonation streamers and nice lacing. Lemongrass, yeasty aroma. Nice crisp flavor, mostly lemon and slight honey towards the finish. Nothing extreme, just a good tasting wheat beer.

Pretty durn good wheat beer. I usually crack these summertime offerings open with skepticism, as breweries just churn out anything with a little bit of wheat in it and call it a seasonal, but... this is legit. Tasty wheat, I will actually probs go for this again as an alternative to hoegaarden and such this summer.

Aroma: wheaty goodness. Appearance: goldenish orange, little lingering head. Flavour: Akin to a Belgian or German Hefeweizen. Very nice and doesn’t taste too imitationey. Quality.

Sampled at Springslicker’s tasting. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Nice assertive nose full of banana esters. Light bodied with a lawn mower beer mouth feel. Flavor of pale wheat malts with some vanilla and grass. Clove phenols come out on the finish. Not bad.

Tap at ACBF 2009: Cloudy golden with a white film of head. Estery sweet hefe aroma- dominated by vanilla and banana. Fluffy crisp body- dry flavor but vacant/ Wheaty, cleaner than the aroma suggested- some mild banana and vanilla with an empty finish. Quite boring.

On draft at ACBF09. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma of a typical hefe- clove, yeast, wheat. Flavor of sweet wheaty malt initially with a doughy/bready yeasty finish. Solid wheat ale. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Not what I’ve come to expect from a wheat beer, but the honey component is interesting. I could see this becoming a go-to summer brew.

Bottle marked best by Aug Week 4. Poured golden with a fizzy thin white head. Aromas of wheat, clove, lemon, and a hint of honey. The flavor was much the same, clove, lemon, honey, and a wheat background but also some banana. Light to medium body and dry.
