Pours a beautiful deep, inky black with a medium reddish/tan head. Aroma is strong with coffee and milk chocolate. Drinks like a good ole cup of joe, with hints of hazelnut, Irish cream, and creamy milk chocolate. Absolutely delicious. I am pleasantly surpised by this beer. Definetly one of my new favorite stouts.

Very good, by far the best I have had from terrapin. Drank immediately after the founder’s breakfast stout. I though this one was much more complex and interesting. Very pronounced coffee flavor with some bitterness in the taste and finish. Not as creamy as the founder’s, but with a more interesting taste. Strong aroma.

On Tap @ D’s 6 packs and Dogs. Poured black. Dark caramel colored head. Frizzly, barely there. Aroma of Chocolate, Coffee, Caramel, Vanilla and Malt. Flavor of burnt coffee, roasted malts. Vanilla, caramel for sweetness. Chocolate and alcohol as it warmed. Medium bodied. thin mouth feel. Syrupy almost. Sweet turning to bitter to alcohol in the end. Finishes dry. I think I expected more. Although there were things that I liked about it. I think this beer aged would be better for sure.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of dark chocolate, burnt coffee, and roasted malts. Poured black in color with a large, dense, dark brown head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Opaque. Flavor is light to medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malts, roasting, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, and burnt coffee. Medium to full body. Thick, sticky, lightly dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet, bitter, burnt coffee and chocolate finish is lightly dry.

On tap at Mad Mex. Big black pour with a fairly dark head which fades rapidly. Head is darker than most stouts. The look is very appealing. Large aroma of thick coffee and perhaps a tad of chocolate. Strong black coffe taste reminds me of grampa’s black coffee when he put whiskey in it. It is in yer face. Alky bitterness, medicinal and difficult. I was going to say this borders on imperial stout and now I see that it is. Way too strong for this lager lover. Burned coffee, like coffee that has been sitting in a heated pot all day. Does anybody have some creamer? No dectable carbonation. Wew, quite an experince. Yep, now I know why it’s highly rated on this website. Ignore my numbers, this stuff is one style.

Bottle thanks to polomagnifico. First pour is a blast of coffee soaked oatmeal as the name would have you guess. Nice fresh coffee taste all the way around in the glass. Creamy, not incredibly full mouthfeel, which makes it pretty easy to drink, and a very enjoyable Impy without killing yourself trying to drink the whole thing. Nice roasty flavor thats not to overpowering. A great Imperial Stout that i can’t get enough of. This is a new permanent ISO for me. THANK YOU polomagnifico!!!!!!&

pitch balck! it pours thick and has a thin mocha colored head with very light lacing. strong coffee aroma...like top quality beans or fresh grounds rather than spent grounds. flavor is of top quality dark roasted coffee and rounds out with a slight hint of citrusy hops and mild bakers chocolate. mouthfeel is rich and creamy thanks to the oatmeal. this is an incredible beer.
